Fallacies

Different types of fallacies is another form of misleading argument.This object can be analyzed as deduction or induction.Fallacies are treated separate,because they are part of the language of the argument.We can mention different types of fallacies as false analogy,presumed cause-effect,non sequitor,and a post hoc claim.Again,fallacies is another support or technique that composition class teach us to improve our  knowledge through the writing process.

Induction and Deduction

Another objective that we learn in this class was the difference between induction and deduction.Most of the people can confuse this two syllogism and the arguments can by analyzed wrong.When we talk about the induction,we try to induce or influencing other people to do something that we believe is correct.One example of this is"Elderly who eating sugar at night can become a diabetic patients".We are interfere with those people by inductive reasoning.All this techniques will help is with our argumentative papers.In deductive writing the first paragraph offers the major premise,and the last paragraph,the conclusion.(The language of Argument,12th edition).

Argument by authority

The most important objective that we learn in this class is Argument by authority.This subject is really crucial when we try to persuade someone in what we believe.Argumentative papers need to have some fundamental points and need to be focus in our audience.To argue something we need to be an expert on the subject at hand.We need to use examples to prove evidence in the topic.Compare our point of view with others authorities is another technique that we can use to have a better argumentation in our testimony.Depend on the audience we can use different types of authority as religious authority,mass authority,critical authority and others.

What we learn in this class

Most of the time we need to use goggle doc in this class.When we write our documents and even when we write a blog.In my personal experience goggle doc it is very new and this class help me to understand a lot about the mechanism and techniques that we can use.The way that we can improve our documents and fix the document formats.Share documents with professor and classmates now is very easy.I do learn a lot of techniques that we can use in order to write good papers.

What we learn in this class

I just came to my office early this morning ,because i was suppose to write something for my composition class.This is something really new and interesting for me.I love the way that professor Hamon imparts his class.Since i start with composition 3 my researches with documents and websites are increasing much more.It is very interesting for me when you are free to write.Professor Hamon teach step by step on each part of our writing papers and them we can demonstrate our capabilities. In my personal experience this class is a big teaching method,using to increase our knowledge,and our creativity.

Composition Class

This class is very interesting and very hard for my.My first language is Spanish and when i try to express my ideas most all the times i can't.Since i start with composition 3 my knowledge and practice in how to write are getting better.This class obligate the students to write every  day at least something in your personal blog.Share with my classmates and instructor at any time of the day is another benefit that professor Hamon are implementing using this type of method of education.I personally think that it is a great mechanism to increase our knowledge and become more effective in our writing practice.

Domestic Abuse

I think that i will change my third paper to Domestic Abuse.My decision was based  in one of my patient that came yesterday to my office.I did a research about that topic and is unavailable how many families has the same problem.How many different types of domestic abuse are in the society even with the early people.I personally think that will be a very good topic to argue with my classmates.Let's work on it.

Why to become a organ donor

More than thousands people are waiting for organs.Each of these persons are patients in desperate situation ,faithing for their live.Maybe our children,our mother or any person very close to us is on the same situation.I do work in a pediatric office where i am dealing with sick children every day.I have more than one reason to be focus in how to persuade people and especially college students to become a organ donor.My third paper will demostrate how can any person been part of this great decition

My last paper

Organ Donor people are one of the most interesting topic that I can use to argue the college students in my last paper. Reason why I seriously thinking to write about the importance to become an organ donor. Most of the time we heard about these concept, but people really understand the importance of donate our organs to others? As student of South University I believe that this will be a very good topic to my paper number three. Let’s work on it.

Document three

Document 3 should be a persuasive document.In my opinion we need to become a very effective writer in our high education,and the use of any persuasive document can help us to argue with our audience  and use different techniques as Authority and Logical Fallacies.That way we are able to express and provide evidence of our argument.

Very important day for my people

The Cuban people celebrate the 31^stof December as the most important event through the year. My family, in particular, looks for different ways to be all together on this important day. Travel from one city to another has been very entertaining in the recent years. For example, my mom comes in from Spain and my uncle and cousins come in from New Jersey. We have a big party as a family on the last day of the year.

We have our own traditions. Every one brings a different type of food, such as tamales cubanos, black rice, flan and yucca.The music that we listen to on this day is much related with our Cuban style. Our country is very poor, but the people are very happy, so we enjoy listening to loud music that you can hear from blocks away. A white tablecloth on the table represents all the people who have sought freedom and died at the sea. The grease and roasted pork is slowly cooked in the metal box that we called caja china. Cold president beer is the final complement for the big celebration.

When the night ends, the people enjoy the arrival of the New Year. Buckets of water are thrown into the street as a wish for health and properity.When the clock strikes twelve o’ clock, all of the family members shake hands. Eat grapes as each wish is made. So between kisses, hugs, and wishes, we end the old year and start the new one filled with a lot of hopes and dreams.

President Obama winner

The big conversation today in my job is the election day.President Obama has a big victory and my boss is really mad.We came from Cuban and most everyone from there are republicans.Mr Romney was suppose to offer us some changes or at list different options for jobs.In my opinion the most important thing is the future of our country,if President Obama has the solution for our people and our economy,i do agree to give him a welcome to become a lieder of the United State.

My first elective day

Today was one of the most exited days for me. My first election day! This event makes me very pound to become part of the United State. For many years in my country I was unable to vote for any president, not even the possibility to share my concerns to anyone. The right to vote is the most important things that we have in this country. Maybe the people that never been restricted from this right, never realize how much important is to select the correct president for our country. Today I did wait for more than two hours to elect my favor candidate, but I was happy. Thanks to all that people that give the immigrants like me the opportunity to be heard.

My Patient Williams.

Today in my job i had a really sad experiences from one of my patient.Williams is a very nice boy with only 11 years old,and today the neurologist diagnostic him with a arterioventricular malformation.This is a big genetic disorder from the arteries of the brain and he will need immediately surgery.When i do  see that type of cases i do realize that the live is a very big gift ,and sometimes we forgot the really value of it.Please love your children and enjoy the world.

Some research in cloud services.

Cloud computing is a spectacular system that help us to perform computing task. We can get connected to the cloud using only a device and internet connection from any place in the world. Two examples that we can mentioned are Gmail and Hotmail. The advantage of this service is spreading all over the world as Skype, Google voice and facebook, services using every day for all the population. The last important and very interesting thing that I want to mentioned in these blog is the opportunity that the system provide us to reduce cost in maintenance and hardware upgrading need for ours computer.

Cloud Services

Last class professor Hamon spoke with the class about cloud service.He did explain a little be about how this wonderful mechanism or service can help and be useful in this society.In my experience i really don't know how the cloud service work.For my next paper i will need to make a lot of research to find how i can work on it.Sounds very interesting and looks like we use the service every day without notice that we are using the service.

Next paper

The next paper should be elective.In my personal case i will love to write about any musician in particular.Why?,because in these times everything is around problems,elections,computer technology and this generate a lot of stress.Can you guys imagine be in front of the sea,listing your favor music and writing our paper?.In my own experience i think that i will love the idea.

Peer evaluation

I think that the possibilities to have a peer evaluation with another people and the rest of the class read our paper and correct a lot of things,give to every one the opportunity to become a better writer.Why?the answer is that when our class in this case have the possibility to exchange papers and different opinions we have a different minds thinking with a lot of  ideas.We can become a better writer if we accept the other people ideas .

The immigration debate

Dunning The last presidential debate President Obama and Governor Romney express their difference regard the immigration in the United stated.The last one clearly said that the people that who has 2 years visas can expect continue with their  valid visas.This  is very good and powerful point in to the elections,because the Hispanic people are one of the biggest population in the United State.The candidates are faithing for the elections and they need to create a new reform to maintain the immigrants of this country with expectations of a better future for themselves.

The 21 century

Today I went to my daughter school, because I was interesting to speak with her teacher regard what else we can do at home when she have nothing to do and she keep asking me for writing, reading o something else. In my old times, my mom was taking me to the library, she was able to buy a new book or magazine for me, and I was happy. So I was doing the same thing with my little girl, but the difference is that in my old times a new book was very cheap, and now I cannot afford buy her a new book every week, because they are vey expensive. I try to explain this one a little be, because was the most important part on my decision to speak with her teacher. How Mrs. Hamon explain and show us the Century 21 in class, of course I did a review and search about it and I saw a different types of puzzle, practice games, exercise and eBooks that can help us to fix the problem and stop going every weekend to the library and spend a lot of money. If I able to find the same thing in my house.Ms Dominguez, my daughter professor talk to me for a long time the different way that the children can study on the computer, and show me a lot of practice games for mathematicas, wonderful eBook with illustrations and everything, the EBook can pronounce the word if you have any doubt, we can find a writing practice, even for me is great, and much more that we can find in the classical library. She gave me a website name and right now I working on it with my baby. My daughter is really happy and I really surprise. The technology and computers are the best. We should keep working on this type of education for our children, for us, and will have a better future as professionals,and I want to mention that I know this method because professor Hamon was the first person who explain this to us in compostion 1.

Mrs Romney

I really don't know much about  the presidential elections.This year will be my first experience with the elections ,and i decide the Governor Romney is my favorite one.I  personally think that he will come with better ideas to increase jobs for example.The health care system is one of the most important points to discuss in this elections.In my own opinion Governor Romney has a lot of experience working with all that kind of staff,and he demonstrate great abilities in Massachusetts.

education in colleges and universities

I did a research about the admission process in colleges and universities and i found out a great groups of ideas that any school can applied in higher education.The admission process have many and different types of evaluation now.Now in days the top universities here in the United States are using a new and different process to evaluate the students.They are implementing a method that intelligence and creativity are the most important factors,along with other factors and much more.

The unemployment situation.

Another issue of the population in these presidential elections is the unemployment and how the government will handle this situation. President Obama has been tried to work with the stimulus plan, the one drop the unemployment rate. However Governor Romney will come with different ideas that will improve the economy of this country.

My last weekend

The last weekend one of the daughters of my best friend celebrates her fifteen years old party. The celebration took place in Elaine’s Restaurant, a wonderful location in West Palm Beach, near the 10 Avenue. The decorations were in red and white and the girl was with a gorgeous red dress. The music was perfect for the occasion. Her dad and mom were so proud of the girl, because she was really impressive. As the night passes all the people was taking chairs to observe the great moment of the night and it was when the father dance a song with his daughter. A lot of food, smiling faces, music, big entertainment and memorable moments are a few words to describe that happy moment in the life of my friend and family.

The health care system and the president elections

One of the most important points of the presidential elections are the health care system.Both,president Obama and Governor Romney have some difference ideas and project about how to work on the system.The president Obama still very focus on his health care plan to how provide insurance to people under 65 years old.Governator Romney want to deal better with people over 65 years old.I personally think that the Obama plan do not will work,because not everyone in this country can't have a free insurance.This is something that will need to be very focus and very carfeully at time of elections.

The injustice conviction of Fernando Salazar

         Since 1990,Fernando Salazar in La Habana “CUBA”prision.He was convicted in the fatal murder of the teenager,following a dispute in some place of Marianao,”Cuba”.There was no evidences,first,no blood,second,no even fingerprints,that involve Fernando on the crime. People and the police department saw Mr. Salazar with the teenager, and he was unfairly arrested. After 18 years in prisons, he was found innocent of the murder. The court did not find any evidence or proof, but they did discover that one of the witnesses was not telling the truth. For these reason all of the peoples who witnesses and hold the truth had their evidence discredited. Finally, an innocent person was free under clear evidence. My friend lost 18 years because he was in jail unjustly, but he did demonstrate that sometimes the justice systems becomes unjust ,and innocent people going to jail like Fernando Salazar.

South university admission and new changes.

The education is the most prestigious achievement in life.This can improve the faculty's and intellect,both as student and professional.The 21st century program can contribute and promote to South University admission department to be more successfully,with different types of test,scores,and background.I will talk about this in my final paper.I did made a very good research and discovered amazing information.

Teenagers and drugs

  i was in shock this morning at work when a mother of 14 years old patient requested a drug screening test for her son.Is sad to see that now in days teenagers are using drugs or other illegal thins in order to obtain entertainment.I remember that back in the days,when i was young we had all types of entertainment(nothing to do with drugs).As a mother of the young child i am very concern with this situation.My daugther will be able to avoid the temptations of drugs?.This worries me and at the same time makes me feel impotent not being able to protect her.

My goals in this course

            My goals in this course are try to be much better in my English and my career. When people coming from another country is very difficult be motivated, and efficiency on the school, because sometimes can be frustrated with the language. This course will provide tools, and knowledge’s to all of us to be a good writer, organize ideas, and practice critical thinking too. People will feel more comfortable at the end of this course. Some of the biggest writers of this world learned with too much effort and perseverance. Aspirations and goals are the reasons that why after a long time we decide to start studying again. Every each class will be a new teaching and experience.  The compositions class will be a great course for everyone of this school .

Music

My favorite entertainment

         In my live one of the greatest entertainment that I have is listening to music. Country music, pop music, and jazz. Three examples of my favorite composers are Sheryl Crow,Alejandro Sanz and Criss Botti.

         The first example is Sheryl Crow. One of the biggest singers of country music. I like her, because the voice is very strong and superior of the others country singers. The harmony that she used on the songs are made with very complicated chord. When she plays  the guitar, Sheryl used very complicated technique.

         Another example is Alejandro Sanz,wich is a very good singer from Spain.I love his music because the language of the songs are very dip.The melodies and the voice of the singer are complemented.He brings to my mind a lot of memories unforgettable from my country and my young’s times.

         The final example that I have is Chriss Botti.One of the most popular composer and interpreter of jazz music.I really feel fascinated for his music, because Mr. Botti used the bass of his melodies very clear.Beautiful sounds flows when he play the trompet.The use of the harmony on the chord is complicated and just great.

         The music teaches you that we can appreciate a lot of components or things that sometime are forgotten, because in these days the life is very stressful. We can relax; study, even when we are sad the music can be a way to make us feel better. That is why the music is a vital part of my entertainment days and my general life.

The kaleidoscope System.

Writing about my final paper I did find one interesting method to evaluate the students in the process of admission in higher education. The Kaleidoscope system is a new method of evaluation establishes to evaluate the student in many different ways that involves essays and other test. The system has been use at the tufts for the past years. The Kaleidoscope cans measurement the ability of the student in creativity, Intelligence, analytical, practical and attitudes. It is very interesting and new type of evaluation that maybe most of you will interest to review.

This week we are working on the final paper of the composition class.My paper will be related with the admission process in colleges and universities.I will show different ways to use that can help to reduce stress.The 21 century program can help the admission office and the school in general,and i should that South will need to start working on it.Many different way that they can use to have a better access to the requirement  documentation,testing process and much more that will increase the development and the proficiency of students enrollment.

I want to post in this blog the relation of augmented reality and the visual style of learning.A lot of specialist think that this is one of the best way to keep all the information in our minds for a long time of period.How do you guys think that we better visualize any situation,reading any book or using augmented reality?.My answer will be the last one,Why?.Take a look in YouTube,or read any article that you can find on the Internet about this phenomenal advantage of the technology.When we work with augmented reality ,we are dealing with virtual objects that we can use in our real life.It is amazing how augmented reality can work or increase our higher education.As a future nurse,i think that will  be great using the augmentation of the reality in every class of my program to simulate any procedure,or any virtual treatment.Make any sense for you guys?????????.Think about it.

In the 21 century the students are allowed to use mobile devices as smart phones,computers and Ipads in class.In other words these three are examples of how these devices are changing our education.These devices help us to have more information of any article from the web.Specific search that the professor is talking about,and many other advantages that we had back then.This method is a big impact on our higher education and it is another example of the changes.

Higher education is changing

If we compare our old times in the school with today classes, is amazing how many changes the education has had. The techniques and technology that we can use in our classes enables us to become a better student, with more intellect. The use of blogs, eBooks, and chats are a very easy way to get connected with a lot of people around the world. We can share our experiences and receive information from students with the same major. Talk with doctors, surgeons, and bright people in general that can demonstrate different techniques on many procedures that we can see on YouTube. Higher education is changing inevitable and we are proud to be part of it.

The augmented reality.

The augmented reality is one of the best examples that 21 Century can show us as wonderful tool for a better education. The augmentation of the reality as a virtual reality is just amazing. Back in the old times how many times we thought about this as an impossible thing. Today the technology advance as digital camaras, GPS, wireless sensors, give us the opportunity to be more accurate.In the actuality we are able to have a viewing of the fetus inside of the mother’s womb, with his own movements it is incredible. I remembered when I was pregnant of my daughter, 2 weeks before my due day, the doctors did the ultrasound and I saw my baby face for the first time, was incredible! The technology advance as video games, 3D movies, smartphones and a lot of examples where we can appreciate the augmented reality are incredible. Can you guys imagine a virtual human body, with real organs where we can practice every day? This training will help us to become a better doctors and nurses. Can you think about how much perfect and accurate we can perform a surgery or any other procedure? In my opinion the Augmented Reality on the education will be necessary and will become a fundamental tool in ours school within the next years.

Smartphone as a tool for student

One of the greater things that 21 Century gives us is the use of Mobil device in the classroom. I think that is a wonderful tool when we need to do any research, find people, and have communication with other classmates. The access of the smart phones simplifies a lot of student materials, as paper, books, and other things. With a little device we can have a full access to everything at all time.

The EMR Program

One of the social media that is revolutionizing the healthcare industry is the EMR program. As a medical assistant in a pediatric office we are installing the EMR to do our work better and easy.Litlle by little we are discovering new things every day. The electronic access to patient data, labs results, allergies, medications, treatments and a lot of things. Find doctors, make appointments. We can save paper and time. This program really works when you have a busy practice like our office.

Driving over 65 years old????????????

Driver test for people over 65 years old 

   When we reach a certain age, our physical and mental capabilities start to drecrese.We can develop serious illnesses such Alzaimer’s disease, and many others disabilities that can cause impossibilities to perform different types of activities as drive. Therefore it is practice to test everyone who is over 65 years old and still driving.

   We can mention many reasons and examples that validate this argument.First, older people can take up to twelve tablets of medication per day. Each of these medications can cause dizziness, low blood pressure, and many things that give inability to take a car and hit the road full in traffic. The pills or tablet are prescribed by a doctor, and if we read the prospectus, the side effects of the medication I can guarantee, that no one can even think to drive under the effect of them. The government and the driver license office should know that. The second reason which is very important is that people over 65 years are unable to react at the moment of danger. When we drive, our minds must be focused not only on our car, but also on everything that is happening around us. The mobility of their hands and legs are not the same. Even the speed of their minds is very slow compared to younger adults.

    In conclusion the driver license office and the government need to realize all the limitation that people over 65 years can have. Mandatory driving test should perform, in my own opininon.Check the labels on medications and make sure with doctors and driver office is recommended too. This does not mean that everyone over this age can be disqualified. But we can save the society and population of more accidents on the road,

About two weeks ago I left my old house and move to a new apartment.When i was packing my staff i did found one of my favorite books that i brougth from Cuba."Paula",from Isabel Allende.She is a chilean novelist.Great writer that transport the readers to another time.Paula,is a very good autobiography of the author.Allende express the deepest and emotionally feelings,because she wrote in this book about his daugther illnes.I invite everyone to read this book.You guys will discover a great author, writer and a wonderful history.

My new friend.

This week end will be full of studies.Yary and I decide going to Starbucks to review Medical terminology and English class. She needs a hand with the first one and I will need a big help with composition. I think she is a great person, and I love the way that she act with me.The word communication between us sound to be perfect. We are a great team.

Today i had one of the  biggest experience in my life as a human.I work in a pediatrician offiece as a medical assistant.I love my profession and i love children.this morning Peter one of my patients came to my laboratory and with his litlle expresion told me.Ms jenny you are the most wonderful person that i know and yu are my favorite nurse.It cause a big impact on me .How a litlle child with only four years old can talk like that, and express him self very clearly about his fellings?Well for me was amazing.Today was a wonderful day for me.

Cuba

This summer I am planning to go to Cuba. I am very excited because I have a lot of people that I love over there. For a long time I am waiting this moment and finally have the opportunity to hug my family and friends one more time. I have a little sister down there waiting for me, and I can count the hours to see her face  like in the old times. Touch my land, hug my people and enjoy my culture, food and traditions are one of the biggest dreams of my life. This summer I will be full of love. I can’t wait till that moment, because I know that will be great for me.

pianists and writers

The other day, in the last class, the professor was explaining that the better way to become a powerful writer is when we are able to write a little be every day. He was compared the writing process with the people that playing piano. Back in my old times, I went to music school and believed or not I was one of the better students in my class. I know how to play piano. I can remember my instructors from that school telling me the same thing. We were supposing to practice with the instrument two hours every day. Some days I was in front of the piano for five hours, and the end of the month we was able to perform a good concert. Since I came to the United States, my entire life change. Now I try to be a good nurse, and working in the health care field, but this will be impossible if I don’t know how to write properly. How I mentioned before it is hard for me, because I never went to the school in this country, and the process of the class and the language sometimes become a big problem. I try to practice every day, same as I did with my instrument. For sure at the end of this course I will be able to reach the top, as I did with my piano.

Difference betwen old and new education.

Century 21, the education revolution.

How many classes do I miss in my old times as student? I positive that the answer will be almost the same for everyone, A LOT…….Why? very simple. The class was bored. I can remember my big teacher, with square glasses, talking and reading the same thing over and over. Sorry but I was unable to be awake all day long. My mind was out of that class most of the time. Reading the same book, going to the same chair, write paragraphs to anyone, and follow up the same rules in every other class, sounded very boring. Now we have the opportunity to explore, to communicate, and to discuss different things. We are learning not only in the school, we keep our training of writing and learning all day long and using different ways. I am invite everyone to open a new door to our knowledge, enjoy our education, and become a better professional.Internet, bloogs, and comment with people that we do not even know are open to the world. Let’s take the chance now.

My major in South University is nursing. How everyone knows is a carrier full of writing. I coming from another country with a different language so sometimes is very difficult write anything. I know that I have a long way of learning how to write properly. This is my opportunity to be very focus in the class, so that way I will take advantage of the school and become a great nurse. Take properly notes from the doctors; write names of the medications, and different things that I will need to write on my patients records. Writing correctly will be a fundamental part as a professional .At this moment I work as a medical assistant, so the English class is very useful .Believed or not in a doctor office you better know how you take care of the patients, you need to write exactly the patient complains, and document on the right way everything. Incredible! But only a few months have been a great beginning for me.

In my life i can mentioned five people that represent my inspiration,or we might say my guides.Would have to go with my daugther first.She's my strength to get up every morning and realize that we can have a better future.In the second place my family undoubtedly plays an important role in my life too.My mother,my brother,the spirit of my father,because is no longer in this world any more.Their advice,their examples are one of the most important things in my life.My boss which is a wonderful friend shows me how i can becoming more professional.My instructors,my classmates.How almost everyone i agree that the most powerful PLN that we have is our family,because they represent for me,the beginning of our dreams.

Academic writing in my own opinion is how you can express your thoughts to the world in the rigth way.This method will help us to write correctly,being able to transfer our experiences in a better format.People in general can appreciates much better the information that we want to express.Academic writing will help not only us as college students,will help everyone to become effective writers and will increase our capacity to achieve our goals with more professionalism.
