This quater of the year.

Even this is the last quarter prior my nursing program i feel to much stress. I am doing good with my classes, but the Teas test is killing me. Since two years ago I am working very hard to pass my classes with good grades and this is the time to prove all my knowledge. I cannot wait to reach the end of this semester. After next week everything will be complete and I will have time with my girl and my family. To much pressure sometimes is not a good feeling for our body . I need my personal relaxation

Comparation between periods of literature.

In order to understand the progress in the literature I was establishing a link  between this class and composition 2 class. The connection between the society point of view and the writer perspective is clear. One of the most significance writing studied in composition 2 was the short story usually is writing in narrative. This genre has four major’s characteristics settings, plots, character, and theme. The short story usually has a very strong theme, because without this one we do not have a story. This genre is focused in an event or incident. Most of the short story follows up the same parents, the introduction, the action development, and the climax. Compare with a poem for example the short story can be in my own opinion more interesting for the audience. One of the best short story of the literature history is "The snows of the Kilimanjaro "by Ernest Hemingway. If you guys have the opportunity, please  read the story.

My Godmother.

Last week I had a tremendous surprise. My Godmother came from Cuba to visit us. Is very difficult to obtain a visa when you are a permanent resident in Cuba, but thanks god that she was able to come. I have a lot of things to talk to her and I am really exited about how many places we can visit together.  I am very happy for my mom as well, because they are friends since many years ago. The possibility to have my family together in Christmas is a wonderful dream.

My Philolophy class.

Tomorrow I will have my Philosophy class third exam.This quarter my classes are related each others. My Philosophy class help me a lot to understand the Literature class.I went through Plato's and Aristotle's ideologies and Philosophies which helped me a lot with my final paper.The connection between Philosophy, literature and architecture in general provide us a better understanding of that period.

Crohn's Disease.

One of my patients came to the office today and she was experience some agressive abdominal symptoms. She was experience a regular episode of Crohn’s Disease.This is a disorder also call regional enteritis is an inflammatory process confined to the mucosa of any or all of the large intestine. Crohn’s is an idiopathic, chronic inflammatory disorder of the bowel usually affects the intestines, but may involve any region of the alimentary tract from the mouth to the anus. Growing evidence suggests that genetic, psychological, inflammatory, intestinal epithelial permeability abnormality factors play significant role in the development of Crohn’s disease and the commensal bacterial flora which appears to be a critical element, particularly in regards to Crohn's disease. In recent years, it has become apparent that overproduction of the Th1 cytokines interleukin-12 and inferferon-γ in Crohn’s disease causes an imbalance between normally occurring positive (immunogenic or inflammatory) responses and negative (tolerogenic or anti-inflammatory) mucosal immune responses. Considerable data indicates that the pathogenesis of Crohn’s disease can be explained by these factors, together with independent environmental triggers such as cigarette smoking.(Pathophysiology of Crohn’s Disease, 2013).I think that is a very interesting information about this disorder. Todays a lot of people suffer this symptoms and we do not even know.

David as a hero.

Doc 3 is very interesting. Searching information about David and Goliath story i did found interesting information. The investigators do not have a really clear documantation of  who wrote the text. Definitively the story was writing durning a period of transition. I believe so because the author provide to the audience different physicals and moral chcaracteristics of the main character. Afetr analyzing the story the audience can clearly conclude that the author was pressented another type of hero in the history.

My test

Since 2 years i am working really hard to get in the nursing program. I can not believe that in only 2 more weeks i will take my teas test in order to apply in the program. I am really nervous about that day. Hopefully everything will be great and finally i can be accepted in the program. I cannot wait till that moment.

Controversial discussion

Last class we have a great discussion about happiness. Who can reach happiness in life?. This is the most controversial question of the philosophers. Back in times many of them developed the idea that only certain people were able to reach happiness. Today's day philosopher says that everyone can be satisfied and their soul can finally find the happiness. Who have the answer?...I don't know......really  confuse.

Happiness and Freedom...?

David and Goliath is the literature that i chose for my final paper. Revising the details through the story i did realize the interesting ways that the author use in order to translate his audience back in times.I think that is very important to the writer provide imagery  to the audience in order to have a good feed back. Also this story clearly reflect the philosophers conception of the happiness and freedom.Reading carefully David and Goliath i can easily remember Plato's words and how he explain "The Metaxy". I totally agree with him when he says that we are in that middle struggle, where sometimes ours desires and fears dominate our conscience. I think that the possibility that all human has in order to comprehend and evaluate what is right or wrong is the privilege that some one give to us. I think that the miserable people belong to this world as well, but they never can reach the happiness and freedom of the soul because according with Aristotle's they are unable to include the heart.

The Final Paper

Today I was trying to organize my ideas in order to doing my final paper. This time professor Hamon used a different idea for the assignment, and was little hard for me to get the right information. Since the beginning of the class we talked about different literature and how we can link the old times with the current days. I did chose David and Goliath, which I think is a very interesting and we can clearly connect the facts and characters with sociological issues. This picture reflects the power of Goliath in front of David.

Good values.

Today in class we talk about values. The people express different opinions about the theme, but we all agree that good values are important in life. In order to correspond correctly with this society we most follow some regulation and facing decisions every day. Friendship, courtesy, Honesty, gratitude and effort are some of the good values that we need to cooperate with this society. Good values keep us moving forward to a better future.

How we can reach our good life.

Reading the articles and stories for this week I was fascinated for them. Through the years many philosophers dedicated their live in order to understand the human existence. The way the Aristotle's add the love in order  to form the classical triangle and them Marcus Aurelio, which is one of the most important character in the literature and the world taught that people should focus more in their acts and do not look the answers always in their divine figures. Every period of our history has a very particular characteristic in order to reach our contemporary period. Every philosopher dedicated their entire life to understand and explain our soul or human existence. I totally agree with them when says that the only way to reach our freedom is through the true and love. I personally think that we must include our heart to every act that we doing. When we are able to give ourselves to others, your soul feels clean nice and happy. They still working in order to understand why..............but I personally think that is totally true.

Good life

Most Human beings should be interested in what is the good life for each of them. Every person have a different point of view of the life. In my own case how I explain in my other blog, I think that my family are the most important people in my life. In fact, my family is the reason of my entire life. However, the possibility to wake up every day with different goals and expectations bring a fulfillment to my life as well. I think that the good life is the complement  and combination of different things and feelings. For Instance, good music, unforgettable moments and events, the appreciation of many values of the society. But at the end, we can conclude that the blessing for the human beings is to dawn another day in the land of god.

Love and Passion.

Love and Passion are two words very discussed trough the years.I personally think that in order to feel good passion we may need to feel love for the other person. The relation between the poem and today's day is that Shulamite was insecure about her beloved because she was in love with him. When you love someone you work very hard every day to be the best person in the entire world. I think that we can experiences the same passion as our ancestors. Every person experience frustrations and insecurity at some point of their life with the other half, but,  these two are feelings  of our romance and relationship that we need to deal with. The sensual emotions and erotic moments that the characters experience in the poem are very characteristic of today's romances.

Good life.

What is the good life for me?........I was thinking in that important question since i did revise our assignments blogs. The good life for me.obviously is to have a great moment with my family and my little girl. I think that when we are able to approach those precious moments we are enjoying a very good life.

Song of Songs

 

The " Song of the Songs" poems is a very unique poem where his beloved is described with many different adjectives in order to use superlatives facts to stand out the women characteristics. The dialogue between the lovers describe sexual love and proffering invitations for enjoying their love. This is one of the poem that clearly reflect the sexual attraction between two people.

Poetry.

This week we are studying poems. The poems are the imagery  connection with the author feelings. Through the poem we can express our emotions and feelings. The most common poems are the romantic ones , but some authors write about many different situations. "Poetry" is a Greek word and is focus on repetition verse and rhyme. Each poem respond to any particular characteristic of the author language. This week I think that will have a better understanding of the poem definition. Method of evaluation.

The method of evaluation that professor Hamon use is very convenience. It give us the opportunity to see how much more we need to be focused on the errors  that he corrected in the assignment. In fact,  can offered a better view of each particular point. Moreover, professor Hamon give us the opportunity to fixed the problems and over viewed ours papers, which i think that is very good, because this is the reason that why we are in the school. According to many researches the only mechanism that human people have to correct any problem is the possibility to going over and over in order to retain the correct information or knowledge.

Heroes

The heroes are very distinctive features. Heroes, are the person who face the adversity from a position of weakness. They have courage, and will sacrificed their life for other. Since professor Hamon discussed with the class the heroes' definition I personally think that I did changed my mind and realize that we need to have heroic people in our life. How the instructor says, we need to have a important and heroic people in our life in order get inspired. After I left the class that day I did realize that my father is the hero in my life. No one is like him. I do admired  him every day of my life. He was the person who show me the adversity and much more. He is my inspiration every day.

Creation stories project

Today in class will fix some others details of the project. Everyone of my group are working very hard in order to present the best. We may change some words or add more paragraphs. I personally think that the project is almost complete. Will work in our references today as well.Since last week that we all are working on the presentation i personally went through many of my child stories book in order to find some ideas.The creation of a human life is something complicated that required a lot of details.Let's see what happen at the end, but i think that will have a really good time together.

The first project

I am really excited to present our project on Thursday. This weekend we work hard as a group in order to create the best human creation presentation. I think that this is a good idea of the professor because not only can increase our imagination, also can keep us together as a group as well. I did found how to create more pictures and I did applied some of them in the project in order to capture our audience attention. I can wait to see my classmates creations presentation. Definitely will have a great time together.

Middle adulthood conection with the virtual language.

The Middle Adulthood

Article 1: The article refers to the ability of the adolescents to “manipulate language and communicate effectively across time and space”(Frelberg,Karen,2013). The author of the article looks like to be a adult person “completely stumped by the language they were using to talk to each other digitally. (Sandtrock, 2013).

The article match perfectly with Levinson theory which “rest on how effectively the individual reduce the polarities and accepts each of them as an integral part of his being”(Sandtrock,2013). The author of the article needs to understand that this is the Internet revolution and most of our adolescents are involve with that. He needs to be aware of many communication ways in today’s day. Furthermore we can lead the article with some lifestyle issues that negative impact on person’s continued development because, the author of the article probably is experience some cognitive changes and the processing of  new information can become really difficult as well. We need to remember that in middle adulthood the intelligence capacity and ability to process new information decrease. This is a very good article which expresses most of the adulthood worries about the new generation.

 

 

 

South University

Since two years ago my life completely change. I  decided  to pass the entrance tests for South University and the school changes my expectations and goals.My beginning was very difficult due to my language.I came from my country 9 years ago and the English really impact my education. My first experience in class was amazing. I did realize that we are able to do anything if we work hard and we are instructed for wonderful professors.This university have a very high reputation in the nursing program as well.I personally think that the institution help the student to encourage their goals and work to provide us the better education.

Creation stories 2

Genesis,which is the opening of the humans begging, give us , a better idea how the world was created by God. Another interesting aspect of these creation was how the nature was a very important symbol or signal of many different things. For instance, big waves of the ocean represented the anger of God. Each of the creations had different themes, but the most important one is the connection between of them. I personally think that we need to read very carefully in order to understand the myths. Our ancestors dedicated part of their life to figure out the beginning of the world and they most need to be respected.

Creation stories.

Creation stories can give us a better idea of how the world was created. For instance, on the beginning of the creation stories, the author wrote about how god through 6 days in order to create the entire universe. Each of them explain step by step how the darkness was separated from the light  or how god create the vegetation and finally how the last day he finished his labor of creation and took some time to rest. Many people do not even realize that this is the reason why we should not work on Sundays in order to admire god that day. Creation stories are the beginning of our creation. Many people on that time work really hard in order to explain our existence today.

The Class

This class is amazing, I love the way professor Hamon teach his material. The possibility to do all the work at home is very convenience for me. I can take care of my daughter and at the same time do some work in post and  comments .Thanks professor Hamon for share us your great experiences.

PENNY ELIMINATION

I DID A RESEARCH ABOUT PENNY ELIMINATION 

This statistics is based in the opinion of 30 health care workers between 20 to 50 years old. Most of them have a sentimental relationship with the penny .However the other portion of the personal; believe that the elimination of the penny   will raise the prices.

To summarize these results I did collect 30 of my health care coworkers, and used some basic questions to support their positions. The handled many point of views about the elimination of the penny. One portion supports the ideas of:

1-Prices will increase, because merchants will round to the nickel. (Probably they will round to their convenience in prices and the majority of the population will be affected).

2-The charities and much more organizations depend of the pennies to collect donations. (Most of the American people are religious, and thousand of our charities depends on pennies drivers to bring in our donations.

3-If we eliminate the penny, will need elaborate more nickels and therefore lose money. (The elaboration of the nickel will cost much more money).

4-The middle class will affect the most, because they are the ones who make more frequently smallest purchases. (Therefore they will need to round to the nickel with more frequency).

5-The most of them agree with the sentimentalism of the penny. American People are very traditional and still very close with their manner. The use of pennies in each of the purchases represents a tradition in the United States.

In the other hand we receive some Anti penny answers too:

1-Some people think that pennies waste our time. (They waste too much time handling pennies, or waiting for people who handle them. Some examples are: Long waiting lines in Supermarkets, Banks and other commercial institutions).

2-Sames individuals referred to the pennies as worthless. (They referred that we cannot buy anything with one penny).

3-The last outstanding point of view of the anti pennies people are that they do not agree with the idea that we need to spend more money if we round the penny to a nickel. (This persons do not see a big different rounding the penny to a nickel).

Imagery

The imagery is a technique used to create a real event or moment in order to recreate the audience imagination. The use of pictorial images, mental images, rhetorical images, collectively produced by the action of imagination. This technique most be used to create words for the audience in order to understand better the stanza or a better idea of the literature in general.

The class

This is a great class for me. Every day teach me different things.Doing the research to write about my last document i did realize how much interesting can be the poets life. They relate their personal experience with the way of writing. Furthermore, the possibility to share my document with my classmates help me a lot.I did went over my last document today with my friend Ashley and she show me  new techniques that can improve my paper.

My third document

The last document required a lot  amount of reading. Since the professor explain the assignment in doc 3 I did start reading about Carolyn Forche. I am trying  to collect information for my paper. I want to get this done as soon is possible. If we complete the paper quick, then we have the opportunity to revise the paper and obtain a better grade.

My last document

My last document will be focused in Carolyn Forche poems. I did chose this author because I can feel a tremendous connection between her personal experiences and her poems. The settings and imagery using by the poet are really impressive. Reading about Forche I did discover amazing anecdotes. In my own opinion is very interesting how your familiar experiences can be a deep scratch. This poet bind the most horrible real experiences  and the words of her poetry.

First women poet in America

Doing a research about the females poets in America, I did found the name of the first one. Anne Bradstreet,who came from Northampton, England in the 1600s.Her father was a volunteer soldier in USA.During reading her biography many things of her life captured my attention. First, she get married with only 16 years old. This immigrant lady who was educated  in several languages get ill and get paralyzed. However she faith for her future as a poet and for her family as well. Anne Bradstreet not only was an example for women poets. Otherwise is a model as  a general women.

My daugther teddy bear

Since my daughter was two years old,she has a Little teddy bear that i give her in her birthday as a present.This is the most important and symbolic toy in her life.Everywhere that we going she need to make sure that her bear is in her bag.Sometimes she driving me crazy, because,can you guys believe that she need to be with the teddy bear always?At night she feels confidence with her bear.She call him 'Pinkie" i have not idea why.But "pinkie" is her good look teddy bear.

My ring

About more than 7 years ago my mom gave me that ring that I use in my left hand. Since that time I always keep the ring with me. Perhaps I did associate the rings with a lot of wonderful moments that one day happen in my life. Maybe, because is gift from my mom. However this ring is different than the others. Every time when I do something and look to my hand I can see my Loki ring and remember to my mother and my good events.

Trifles

The setting of the play is one of the most important things that capture my attention.Although the death body was found upstairs,the author place the most important symbolism's and facts in the kitchen of the house.In order to linked the murder with the domestic women roles in that times.The domestic setting and female domain in the early twentieth century has a fundamental part on the play. If we are able to interpret and understand this relationship between murder and domestic setting placed by the author, will be able to grasp the main idea.

Vitamins

Vitamins are dived in two groups. Fat- soluble vitamin and water- soluble vitamin. Each are classified by the components or materials which they dissolve. Fat –soluble vitamins are vitamin A, D, E, and K which are stored in the body. After these vitamins are digested they dissolve in fat before they are absorbed in the bloodstream, then the body use what they need and the rest are stored for a future use. In contrast the body does not store water- soluble vitamins. These vitamins are ingested and dissolve in water, then go to the blood stream. Due to this process the body needs to replace these vitamins every day in order to maintain our body healthy. The excess amounts of the water –soluble vitamins are eliminated in the urine. I am in my nutrition class which I love it. I really think that our body is an amazing thing, able to process and handling many difficult functions. I did share this information with you guys, because it is important the knowledge of how our body metabolize 

Literary Voice

Literary voice is the manner in how the reader projects the story. Many different types of emotions and feelings will be connected. The audience can laugh or they can cry, depend in how we project our voice and tone. The use of punctuation and dialogue are extremely important when we become the reader of any story. We can find different types of voices; sometimes the reader can use a dark voice while another can be light. Literary voice   is one of the most important aspects when we read any paper. Our voice can captivate the audience.

Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center.

I want to share this information with my classmates and professor, because I think that is important to get involved with autistic children. As a mom and health care worker is important to find therapies, information and help for this little ones. This center is a great place to interact with this type of patient.
Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center Host First Palm Beach School for Autism Horse show is a location where experts and doctors recently develop a program for autistic children. Using horses to assist their incapacities and assist them with their sensory abilities. The parents of the children are really excited with the program, because it really improves the capacity of the autistic patient to increase their speech, developmental delays, motor skills, and feelings. The instructors and professor of this tremendous location are really training in different special skills to make a success to everyone.

We can find The Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center in Loxahatchee, West Palm Beach where they develop different types of activities and therapies for disabilities people. Psychological help will provide for patients and parent’s .Horses riding will be the most important and recreational activity for many children with all type of skill delays, but the most common that we can find in that location will be autistic children.

 

Female charcther in the"Hills like white Elephants” by Ernest Hemingway.

 

    Jig, the female character of this history appears as a very young girl, probably twenty year’s old. Hemingway (1927)”The girl” (p.444) the expression used by the author to refer her, is one of the examples that the audience can use to assume the age of Jig. Dreams, hopes and illusions are perfect adjectives to illustrate this character. Hemingway (1927)”The girl was looking of the line of hills.”(p.444).This sentence in the story can reflect how much focusing the girl placed on of her future. Therefore she was not even paying attention to the waitress. Hemingway does not give to the reader any physical description of the girl. This is very unusual on this type of story. Describing the character as skinny or sweet for example can illustrate the protagonist, and gives the audience a better idea of the character .However, Hemingway (1927) “The Girl “(p.444) is a very short expression enclosing a lot of meaning within.

My inseparable purse

Like every women i carry my purse with me at everywhere i go.inside of this small and fashion article you guys can find a lot of diverse things.My lip gloss,my credit  cards,documents,my inseparable phone and family pictures.My personal documents,some of them.my agenda is not there any more,my cellphone replaced.one of the most important thing that i carried in my purse are,my billes to pay and my groceries list.as mother,student and busy women as most of the people in the school my purse represent on of the most important personal article.the most difficult part is when i need to open and look inside of her.

Miss Emily

Last week I wrote about “A Rose for Emily”. This is a great story. I want to conclude explaining what I think about her personality. Emily’s behavior perfectly matches with a mental disorder and necrophiles patients.”A Rose for Emily” demonstrates to the audience how powerful the parents influence can damage the child behavior. The story ends with a tragic discovery which shocks the reader. The towns people together are as one character serving as the antagonist in the story. Ms Emily describes the perfect South people. I recommended the story, because I personally think that is a very interesting and unconventional.

Peer review.

The peer review process tin this class really helps me. At the beginning with professor Hamon I wasn’t sure about what to write and how to do the best work. The peer review allows me to improve my English and my learning concepts about how to write the correct document. Professor Hamon and the classmates help me to correct the document in order to end with the best paper. Share the paper, and the rubric method of evaluation can give us a better idea how our papers looks like. Definitely, review our documents over and over, and allow to others help us with mistakes can increase our writing skills.

William Faulkner"Rose for Emily"

William Faulkner’s  is one of the most recognized american writers of the 1900’s. He developed and incorporated different types of literature as poetry, essays, play in several other forms in order to widen the reader’s imagination and language. A Rose for Emily is a short story whose characters take part in a diverse array of situations, and create a grotesque literary work of fiction around  an old woman, a town and the woman’s boyfriend. The violence or morbidity implied in the language is one of the most striking aspects. Published in April 1930 and reprinted in 1931, A Rose for Emily is an example of literary fiction as well as modernism. In a story in which everything sounds real, what happens turns out to contain an element of falsehood. This is a modernist characteristic which William Faulkner makes good use of. The plotline for A Rose for Emily develops in a very small town, where Colonel Sartoris was the highest authority. The Emily’s house is describing as a very big house, but devastated as the owner used as one of  parallelism by the author . The story begins with the protagonist funeral and from there, the author develop the tragedy. Ending with the dreadful discovering and a suspensful event. Is worth to emphasize that the author use a chronological order through the story leading the reader to a better understanding of the suspense end.

A Rose for Emily

“A Rose for Emily”is one of the most extraordinary short stories in 20th century American literature. The author (William Faulkner) creates a very ugly, fat and grotesque female character as the protagonist, and places her in a setting defined by violence that envelopes her town, her house and her boyfriend. I did pick up this short story because attracted my attention the fiction of the literature. Everyone are suppose to read the action on each of the paragraphs and the mystery of the words. 

Poetry

Poetry is a type of literature where the intensity of the poet is given to the feelings.Poets can express their feelings and their most deepest emotions through the poetry.Dylan Thomas describe the poetry as "makes me laugh or cry or yawn".This is what exactly is.Poetry is all about feelings and emotions.I love to read poetry.Poets as John Milton and Shakespeare.

My two lives by Lahiri

As an immigrant, “My two lives” really touch my heart. I think this article shows the immigrant struggles day after day. We coming from another country with different manners and it are very difficult to implement and incorporate new live style. The writer in this case she move form Indian to the United States, and she grew up as an Indian-American girl. Means that her parents decide to apply their native traditions to the American live. During the history, Lahiri describe step by step how frustrated can be the immigrant situation. We can appreciate how difficult becoming when we belong to two different nations. The language is the hardest part in my personal experience. Many of you will noticed.

My daugther.

I want to share this blog with everyone. I have a six years old daughter. She is the reason of my life. Since October from last year I did applied for U.B K. elementary school of Arts. Last week I did receive the great notice that she was accepted in the program. Next course she will be associate with this tremendous institution. As an immigrant person I have not even words to express how much I do appreciate this opportunity for my little girl. This is the best country of the world. My daughter needs to be proud of being born in this wonderful country. Many of the people being born in USA do not appreciate the possibility to become educated and how many possibilities of studies this country has. Once again, I want to thanks to all the institutions and professors that allowing me and my little girl to climb the top.

Wiki Class

This is the best class ever. Since Professor Harmon start working in South University my knowledge fully grows. Many of you might wonder, why? Well, professor Hamon introduce the wiki class to the university and since the first day I thought that was a great learning tool. The wiki classes have a lot of benefits. The most convenience in my own case is the possibility to stay connected with all the classmates and professor all day long. Even you can share and receive new information from other sources at any time of the day. So far the class sounds to be very interesting. I do believe that we will really enjoy the wiki class all together.
